Mavis Tsai, Ph.D., is a distinguished clinical psychologist and senior research scientist at the University of Washington's Center for Science of Social Connection. As the co-creator of Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), she pioneered a treatment approach that harnesses the power of an authentic therapeutic relationship to transform clients’ lives.
Dr. Tsai's expertise and contributions to the field are further evident in her role as co-author of five books on FAP, which have reached a global audience with translations in multiple languages including Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Persian, and Romanian. She is a recipient of Washington State Psychological Association’s Distinguished Psychologist Award and is a Fellow of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
